This virtual workshop is designed for the novice nursing professional development (NPD) practitioner who is searching for direction to navigate the latest NPD Scope & Standards of  Practice (Harper & Maloney, 2022). The Scope & Standards is your professional roadmap to guide you through your daily work within the NPD specialty. This two-day workshop will empower you to apply NPD competencies, roles, and responsibilities to your unique practice setting and enable you to identify the right tools and resources needed to advocate for your success.

Be prepared to navigate the Scope & Standards and learn how it can be leveraged in the workplace to provide support and growth for your professional journey.  If you are new to nursing professional development, this workshop is for you!  Participants in this two-day workshop will earn 6.5 nursing contact hours.

The Nursing Professional Development (NPD) Scope & Standards of Practice, 4th Edition is your professional roadmap to guide you through your daily work within the NPD specialty. The competencies outlined in the scope and standards enable you to identify the right tool and resources to empower you to advocate for your own success. With an emphasis on the application of the NPD roles and responsibilities within your organization and environment, this session will help you navigate the scope & standards and learn how it can be leveraged within your workplace to provide support and growth for your professional journey.

It is strongly recommended that participants have a copy of the NPD Scope & Standards of Practice, 4th Edition available for reference during this workshop.

Target Audience: Novice nursing professional development (NPD) practitioners with less than two years of NPD experience.

Outcome: 90% of novice participants who complete the evaluation will self-report that this session provides knowledge that empowers them to apply the NPD Scope & Standards to their practice.

Continuing Education: Association for Nursing Professional Development is accredited with distinction as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center Commission on Accreditation.

Successful Completion:

  1. Register for and attend the full workshop (both days)
  2. Complete the online evaluation
