NPD Week 2026 President’s Message
September 11, 2026 — Stephanie Zidek, PhD, RN, AGCNS-BC, NEA-BC, NPD-BC

I am honored and excited to wish all nursing professional development (NPD) practitioners a very happy NPD Week!

This is always one of my favorite times of the year. Not only do I see NPD teams celebrating and recognizing one another, but I also experience appreciation and outreach from colleagues across healthcare, including nurse leaders, interprofessional partners, and nurses and clinical teams. It is inspiring to see so many individuals use this special week to recognize the impact of NPD practitioners, raise awareness of our specialty, and champion the importance of lifelong learning and professional development.

ANPD offers many great resources to help you celebrate and stay engaged throughout the week. Be sure to explore our NPD Week resources, including our website, swag store, social media channels, and The Neighborhood. You can also recognize a colleague with a Virtual High-Five e-card.

As part of our commitment to supporting and advancing the NPD specialty, ANPD is also proud to launch our first-ever Mary Holtschneider Fund Scholarship to provide financial support for opportunities that help NPD practitioners grow and thrive, including ANPD membership, certification preparation, and other professional development resources. We also encourage those who are able to consider contributing to the fund, helping us invest in the future of NPD and support practitioners for generations to come.

Most importantly, thank you for all that you do every day to elevate nursing and support the professional growth of others. Your leadership, expertise, and dedication ensure that learners have the best tools, resources, and education needed to provide exceptional care to patients, families, and communities.

I am grateful for the impact you make and look forward to celebrating you this week and throughout the year.

Happy NPD Week!
