ANPD recently celebrated Nursing Professional Development (NPD) Week, held September 14–20, 2025. This annual event honors the vital contributions of NPD practitioners who support nurses and healthcare teams through education, leadership, and professional development. From hospitals to academic institutions and beyond, NPD Week is a time to recognize the impact these professionals make every day.
In case you missed it, here’s a look at how members of our nursing professional development community celebrated NPD Week across the country.
"Happy Nursing Professional Development week! So thankful for all of the amazing work that our NPD practitioners do to grow and develop our teams at AdventHealth Apopka."
"This past week the Brooklyn Hospital Center was very busy for all, however we recognized staff and celebrated... the Association for Nursing Professional Development (ANPD) NPD Week Luncheon for our nurse educators. Thank you for all you do!"
"We want to give a heartfelt shoutout to our amazing colleagues at the Loyola Medicine Center for Professional Practice Development (CPPD). Your commitment to advancing nursing excellence, fostering lifelong learning, and supporting our teams through every stage of their professional journey is truly inspiring. You are the backbone of our growth and innovation, and your impact is felt every day."
"Today Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas, celebrated professional development by hosting a table in the atrium, catching people going in and out of the cafeteria with the smell of fresh popcorn. Professional development family tree posters were set up for staff to 'shout out' anyone who supported them at some point. Leaf cutouts had catagories such as preceptor, leader, mentor, validator, onbaorder, and blank leaves just to say thanks. In two hours time, we filled up four poster boards with celebrations not just in nursing, across a wide array of inter-professional colleagues."
"Happy Nursing Professional Development Week! I want to celebrate the amazing nursing professional development department and the nursing professional development Specialists at HUP. For almost 5 years working in this department, I am honored and proud to work alongside smart, talented, innovative, and dedicated individuals."
"This year, September 14–20, hospitals celebrate Nursing Professional Development (NPD) Week, which shines a light on the profound impact NPD practitioners have on healthcare. Our NPD team provides our staff with quality education throughout all stages of their careers and ensures that our organization is recognized for quality, evidence-based practice, and patient safety."
"Happy Nursing Professional Development week #NPDweek to all the NPD practitioners and specialists! It was so joyful to come together to network and learn with people who share the same passion and purpose."
