Sara Gibbons, PhD, MSN, RN, NPD-BC, NEA-BC, CPN
Senior Director, Clinical Learning, Student Services, Nursing Practice & Magnet St. Luke’s Health System
Sara Gibbons has been a nurse for 20 years and has a clinical background in pediatric medicine. Gibbons has served as an adjunct and clinical faculty member for several universities. She spent five years as an NPD specialist for a large pediatric hospital before taking her first leadership role in 2013. She holds an MSN, and both a CAGS and PhD in health professions education. She is certified in pediatrics and nursing professional development and holds advanced certification as a nurse executive.
Gibbons currently serves as the senior director for clinical learning, student services, nursing practice, and Magnet® for a health system in Idaho. She oversees NPD and interprofessional PD, instructional design, simulation, the medical library, patient education, nursing excellence, and the Magnet® program. She also serves as a reviewer for the Journal for Nurses in Professional Development and is serving as a mentor in the NPD leadership academy.

Jessie Scapinello, MSN, RN
Clinical Nurse Executive
Jessie Scapinello, MSN, RN, has been a nurse for more than 15 years and has spent most of her career in the emergency department and as a critical care flight nurse. Scapinello transitioned from the bedside into the healthcare IT world in 2017. In 2018, Scapinello furthered her education at Western Governors University, graduating with her Master of Science in Nursing Informatics degree in 2020. Scapinello joined Elsevier in April 2021 as a key account director. In May 2023, she was promoted to a clinical nurse executive where she uses her expertise to help clinicians grow their professional careers and deliver the very best care.
Scapinello grew up in Canada where she graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from McMaster University. Her education was shaped early on by the philosophies of Florence Nightingale. Scapinello currently resides in Lakeland, Florida with her husband and two children. In her spare time, she enjoys being outdoors and visiting Florida beaches.
Mandi D. Walker, DNP, RN, NPDA-BC, CCRN, NEA-BC
Executive Director of Professional Practice
Mandi D. Walker has been a nurse for 19 years with a clinical background in trauma, surgical and medical critical care. From there, she transitioned into an NPD role and spent six years as the critical care NPD. During that time she obtained an MSN with a focus on education. In 2016, she transitioned into an NPD leadership role and has been steadily adding roles and responsibilities ever since. She completed her DNP in executive leadership in 2018.
Walker now serves as the executive director of professional practice for a health system in Louisville, KY, overseeing NPD, nursing research and nursing excellence. She is certified in critical care and holds advanced certifications in NPD and as a nurse executive. She served as a director on ANPD's Board from 2019-2023 and received ANPD's Belinda E. Puetz award in 2015.

Danyel Germain, DNP, RN, CHSE
Vice President, Customer Success at Elsevier
Danyel Germain is vice president of customer success at Elsevier Clinical Solutions, leading clinical implementation and engagement teams across artificial intelligence, point-of-care, and competency management offerings. With 25 years of experience in clinical, academic, consulting and executive nursing leadership, she fosters partnerships that promote evidence-based practice and strategic change. Her teams also support product launches through customer education, technical writing, and integration services. Germain joined Elsevier in April 2022.
She holds a doctorate in nursing practice from Yale University and a Master of Science in nursing with an emphasis in education. Germain is a licensed registered nurse in Minnesota and California, a certified healthcare simulation educator (CHSE), and a fellow of the National Academies of Practice. She serves on the board of directors of the Yale School of Nursing Alumni Association as the strategic communications officer.
