The Association for Nursing Professional Development (ANPD), along with the nursing professional development (NPD) team, operations staff, education staff, and all who had the privilege of working with Mary Holtschneider, MEd, MPA, BSN, RN, NPDA-BC, NPD-BC, NREMT-P, CPTD, share our deep gratitude for her many contributions, expertise, and unique spirit she brought to our community.

Mary shared her knowledge both as a volunteer and a contractor, mentoring and educating NPD practitioners and specialists in their professional advancement across the country. Mary impacted the nursing profession and nursing professional development in so many ways apart from ANPD. But, within ANPD, she formed friendships with her NPD Certification Preparation course and Leadership Academy program colleagues, followed up with organizations with whom she taught their NPD teams, pushed individuals to their potential, and made people laugh. Her passion for health and wellness was prominent. Her most recent ANPD Aspire Convention invited session was a hit and a hoot as she flexed her Pilates skills and presented a powerful reminder for NPD practitioners to prioritize their own well-being, and that holistic health matters to learners.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Mary’s family, friends, and colleagues. As we reflect on her impact, we hold close our own interpersonal connections with one of the best.

Thank you, Mary. You will be missed.

Naomi Fox, DNP, RN, NPD-BC, CCRN
