Get to Know ANPD’s New Executive Director, Janae Lindsley

Dear ANPD Members,

I am honored and excited to join you as executive director of the Association for Nursing Professional Development (ANPD). ANPD is an organization I know well, having previously worked on the ANPD staff team from 2019 to 2021, and I am excited to return at a time of such strong growth and momentum.

I come to this role with more than a decade of experience in association management within national healthcare and nursing organizations. Most recently, I have served as executive director of both the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning (INACSL) and the Society of Pediatric Nurses (SPN). In these roles, I partnered closely with boards to set strategic direction, strengthened financial performance, grew net assets, expanded program participation, and led cross-functional teams focused on delivering meaningful member value.

I am especially excited about ANPD’s continued growth and the passion of its members. Nursing professional development practitioners play a critical role in preparing nurses to lead, adapt, and deliver exceptional care, and ANPD has established itself as the premier organization supporting this work. My role is to help ensure the association has the structures, resources, and partnerships needed to sustain that leadership well into the future.

In my first year as executive director, my focus will be on listening and alignment. I want to hear directly from members, better understand your needs, and assess how our current programs and operations are supporting you. From there, my priorities will include reinforcing financial stability, streamlining internal processes, and identifying opportunities to enhance or expand programming. My goal is to ensure ANPD is positioned for sustained success and that you feel heard, supported, and energized by the value the association provides.

Our field is at a transformative moment. Advances in technology, such as simulation, virtual reality, and artificial intelligence, are reshaping how nurses learn and grow. At the same time, workforce challenges, leadership development, and data literacy are increasingly critical to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care. ANPD has a powerful opportunity to lead in this space by setting standards for lifelong learning, forging strategic partnerships, and serving as the premier voice for nursing professional development. Together, we can ensure NPD practitioners are prepared to thrive in an evolving healthcare landscape.

I also encourage you to stay engaged with ANPD in whatever way feels most meaningful to you. Whether through volunteering, contributing to educational initiatives, participating in The Neighborhood, or connecting with peers, your involvement strengthens our community of more than 9,000 members. If you’re attending the 2026 Aspire Convention in Louisville this March, I hope to meet you there.

Your voice matters, and your participation helps advance the specialty and the profession as a whole.

I am deeply motivated by the impact ANPD has on individual members and their professional success. I look forward to celebrating both small wins and major milestones with you.

Thank you for welcoming me to this role. I am excited about the path ahead and honored to work alongside you to advance nursing professional development.

With appreciation,

Janae Lindsley
Executive Director
Association for Nursing Professional Development
