2026 Aspire Convention | March 23 – March 27, 2026 | Louisville, KY
The ANPD Aspire Convention is the premier education and networking event for NPD professionals to share expertise, knowledge, skills, best-practice, and advocacy for the NPD specialty on every level.
Our education program is a demonstration in diversity of thought, participation, and experience that will inspire NPD practitioners to lead similar initiatives at their own organizations. The event is filled with dynamic keynote sessions, 60 and 30-minute concurrent sessions, and microlearning sessions. In addition, a robust poster reception and a Star Search competition. Attendees can earn up to 18 contact hours for convention sessions and additional hours for the Pre-Convention Workshops.

Session Types
Concurrent sessions are 30-minute or 60-minute sessions that consist of an interactive verbal presentation, audience Q&A, with key takeaways to advance NPD practice.
Microlearning sessions are fast-paced oral presentations focusing on one concept at a time.
Poster presentations are visual representations used to disseminate evidence-based practice, research, and new, innovative, and practical approaches that can be used in a variety of NPD settings. The convention includes a poster reception, during which poster presenters will disseminate their work in person.

NEW TO ASPIRE: NPD Essentials
Sessions describe NPD practice skills, knowledge, attitudes, or judgments that aid in developing the professional skills of NPD practitioners, providing tangible takeaways to implement. These sessions provide knowledge to NPD practitioners about foundational or trending topics in NPD practice (e.g., learner engagement strategies, return on investment, artificial intelligence, health policy).

Onboarding/Orientation
Sessions describe innovative onboarding/orientation processes. Onboarding is the fluid process of hiring, orienting, socializing, and integrating an employee to the organization with a focus on retention and growth. Orientation is one component of the onboarding process and is comprised of an individualized program to guide the new hire towards job competency.
Competency Management
Sessions describe innovative/transformational competency management processes. Competency management is a dynamic process designed to support ongoing assessment and evaluation of performance.
Education
Sessions describe strategies used to improve professional practice (nursing and interprofessional education) and the provision of quality patient care.
Role Development
Sessions describe identification and application of strategies to facilitate continuous growth through ongoing professional learning as learners advance from novice to expert in their professions and specialties.
Collaborative Partnerships
Sessions describe mutually beneficial relationships between two or more individuals, groups, or organizations that work jointly toward common goals.
Inquiry
Sessions describe participation in inquiry, which includes research, evidence-based practice (EBP), and quality improvement (QI) activities.

Respectful & Equitable Practice
Guided by Standard 9 of the NPD Scope & Standards of Practice, the NPD practitioner practices with cultural humility and inclusiveness (Harper & Maloney, 2022). Our session presenters reflect, engage in, or support cultural humility, social equity, inclusivity, allyship, and/or cultural practices and demonstrate diversity, equity, and inclusion in NPD practice.
