Now Boarding: Your Flight to Elevated Teaching Strategies & Competency Management

Intended Audience: Novice to Competent

  • Donna Wright, MS, RN, NPD-BC and Michele L. Deck, MEd, RN, BSN, LCCE, FACCE

The first workshop, Donna Wright, MS, RN, NPD-BC will explore with you the elements needed to create a successful competency program. You’ll learn creative strategies for the competency process and innovative ways to verify competencies in all departments. In defining ways to operationalize this every day and ensure compliance, you’ll join Donna to have a humorous look at how to make all this happen and create a system that really works. You won’t believe how easy it can be.

In the second workshop, Michele L. Deck, MEd, RN, BSN, LCCE, FACCE will guide you in elevating your practice by determining the direction you are headed. While joining NPD colleagues to explore new teaching strategies that will delight and invite, you’ll discover ten strategies you can immediately implement at your next meeting or educational offering. Be ready to unite content and engagement. Soar to new heights in your NPD practice!

Futurize Your Practice: Supercharging Innovation and EBP

Intended Audience: Competent to Expert

  • Olivia Lemberger, PhD, RN, CHSE, NPD-BC and Lynn Gallagher-Ford, PhD, RN, EBP-C, DPFNAP, FAAN 

In the first workshop, Olivia Lemberger, PhD, RN, CHSE, NPD-BC will walk you through a robust history of nurse-led innovation endeavors that have positively transformed healthcare. You’ll learn how to expand your innovative mindset by participating in divergent thinking and conceptual blending exercises. In examining case studies, you’ll better understand the intersectionality of psychological safety and innovation within the healthcare ecosystem. These exercises will increase your ability to identify essential components of innovation practice and provide you with tools and resources to support the successful advancement of nurse-led innovation initiatives.

In the second workshop, Lynn Gallagher-Ford, PhD, RN, EBP-C, DPFNAP, FAAN will provide experienced NPDSs with effective strategies, tools, and resources that will help advance beyond foundational EBP competencies to propel evidence-based care forward and sustain best practices. The session will include cutting-edge didactic content related to the newest trends in evidence-based practice as well as a variety of interactive activities to enhance the learning experience. NPD can’t be done without EBP – you don’t want to miss this workshop!
