The 2026 Virtual Symposium offers a unique education experience with live and on-demand sessions, virtual poster presentations, and the opportunity to earn Nursing Continuing Professional Development (NCPD) contact hours.

Live sessions of the 2026 Virtual Symposium take place on October 15th, bringing together the NPD community to engage with presenters in real-time. After the live events, registrants have on-demand access to additional educational sessions for a full 30 days until the event closes on November 16^th at 11:59 pm CST.

This session explores how intersecting identities—race, gender, culture, power, and privilege—impact healthcare access, clinical decisions, and patient outcomes. Participants will examine how implicit and systemic biases influence care delivery and provider-patient interactions. Attendees will analyze cultural power dynamics and the cultural competency continuum, gaining practical strategies to advance health equity, reduce disparities, and deliver inclusive, person-centered care.

A Qualitative Exploration of NPD Practice Judgment

The concept of NPD practice judgment was first introduced in 2022 in the 4th edition of the NPD Scope and Standards of Practice. This presentation provides the results of a qualitative study conducted to determine if Tanner's Model of Clinical Judgment applies to NPD practice judgment.
