NPD in Motion Contributor Amplification Toolkit

Thank you for contributing to NPD in Motion! The hard part is over — you have written an article or contributed to a podcast episode that will be valuable to so many nursing professional development practitioners. Now, ANPD is asking for your help to promote your article. The following is a toolkit that will guide you through this opportunity.

4 Steps to Promoting Your NPD in Motion Article

  1. Share on your social media platforms.

Write your post. Here is example post body you can modify for your purposes:

ARTICLE: I’m excited to be a contributor to NPD in Motion, the official digital content hub of the Association for Nursing Professional Development. Read my article on XXX topic and let me know your thoughts in the comments! [Insert article link]

PODCAST: I was honored to be a guest on the NPD Forecast podcast, the official podcast of the Association for Nursing Professional Development. Listen to the episode on XXX topic and let me know your thoughts in the comments! [Insert podcast link]

Consider additionally adding a sentence or two explaining the importance of the topic to you.

Find and tag ANPD @anpdaspire or @Association for Nursing Professional Development across social platforms.

  2. Engage with ANPD’s social posts about your content.

If you haven’t yet, please let the ANPD content team know your social media handles so they can tag you.

Once your article is shared, join the conversation by commenting on the post, resharing it, and/or adding it to your social media feed.

While you’re at it, engage with other posts on ANPD’s social media platforms to help amplify fellow NPD voices!

  3. Start or join a conversation about your content contribution on ANPD’s The Neighborhood members-only online community.

Determine where you would like to share your content. (E.g., in the General Discussions forum or within a specialized group).

If relevant, determine which author will create the post.

Write the post to drive engagement, e.g., ask a question. Here is an example of post copy for this article:

Post Title: How has your organization navigated mock code training at multiple locations?

Post Body: Hi everyone, I am excited to share this article I contributed to for NPD in Motion: “Making Mock Code Meaningful for Multiple Locations” [Insert article link].

I hope you will all take a few minutes to read through the article and then return here to share your perspective! Has your organization similarly created new processes and programs for mock code at multiple locations? What do you wish you knew before you started? Looking forward to reading your comments!

Let the ANPD content team know you are planning to post. They are happy to assist you in coming up with your message and can include a link to the conversation within the article itself.

  4. Record a short video with our easy-to-use platform.

Consider these tips for recording your video:

    • Ensure notifications are silenced on your computer and move to a quiet place to record.
    • Select a background that isn’t busy with a light source in front of you (e.g., in front of a window) instead of behind you.
    • Look directly into the camera on your computer instead of at the screen.
    • Practice your talking points prior to hitting record.
    • Relax and have fun!

Click here to record your video. When you hit submit, ANPD staff will be able to access the video to use in promotions, but you can also download it to share on your own social media platforms as well.

See here for an example from an author who recorded a video and shared it on LinkedIn.

Bonus: Spread the Word!

  • Did you enjoy contributing content? Consider submitting another article in the future, reaching out to the ANPD content team with article ideas, and/or volunteering to contribute to topic requests you see shared by ANPD staff or Content Committee members.
  • Send your content contribution to your colleagues / network / group chat and encourage them to submit an article themselves.
  • Feature your content contribution prominently on your LinkedIn page, professional website, or CV.
  • Consider applying for and amplifying opportunities to join the ANPD Content Committee or to become a subject matter expert.
