Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

After much review, dialogue with key stakeholders and considerable evaluation of the evolving public health situation, the ANPD Board of Directors has decided to cancel the 2020 Annual Convention, April 28-May 1 in Chicago.

Why did you wait until now to cancel?

ANPD leadership has been monitoring the situation and recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO). The board of directors recognized that the developments around COVID-19 were changing significantly each day and the consequences of potentially displacing healthcare workers during this critical time would cause an adverse event. ANPD does not take this unprecedented decision lightly. ANPD and our members are committed to advancing quality healthcare by defining and promoting nursing professional development practice, and with this in mind the most responsible path forward for our members to fulfill that mission was to cancel this year’s event.

Will Aspire...to Envision be rescheduled to take place later this year?

There are many details and factors that go into planning an event such as the ANPD Annual Convention. Based on limited exhibitor and speaker availability, Aspire…to Envision will not be rescheduled for later this year. We look forward to welcoming you to next year’s Annual Convention, April 20-23, 2021 in Atlanta, GA.

Will paid attendee and exhibitor badge registrations be refunded?

Paid conference registrations will receive a full refund in the same format that you paid. More information will be available in the coming weeks. We appreciate your patience during this time. Any further updates regarding the ANPD Annual Convention will be published to anpd.org/convention.

Will exhibitors be refunded for booth space?

The primary booth contact for your company will receive further information regarding processes and procedures for any booth fee refunds or credits. You can expect to receive an email communication by March 31 with more information. Each exhibitor remains responsible for charges for services and equipment already provided up to and including the date of cancellation. Please reference the Online Exhibitor Service Manual for exact cancellation dates for each specific show vendor. For more information about your shipment, please read more on the Exhibitor page. Please note that ANPD is looking into ways we can provide the valuable content from the conference virtually to our attendees and members in the coming months, and with that may be additional sponsorship opportunities for your organization. Any further updates regarding the 2020 Annual Convention will be published to anpd.org/convention.

What is the situation with hotels if I booked through the ANPD conference hotel website/room blocks?

The ANPD Annual Convention hotels will be cancelling any remaining reservations in the system by this Friday. You will still receive a refund from the hotel.

Will attendees and exhibitors be refunded for airline tickets?

ANPD is not responsible for reimbursement of non-refundable airfare. Please contact info@anpd.org if you have additional questions.

Will any sessions be made available virtually?

ANPD is looking into ways we can provide the valuable content from the conference virtually to our attendees and members in the coming months. More information will be shared if and when it becomes available.

How will the conference cancellation impact the organization?

ANPD did not make this decision lightly. Over the coming months, ANPD has many steps to take, including determining and analyzing the financial impact of this drastic, but necessary cancellation of our annual event. While we recognize our decision to cancel as the right one, the association’s contracts with many vendors and host hotel require that we work in coordination with our legal counsel and insurance provider to make every effort to ensure the least possible financial loss to our organization. Due to conservative budget management and investments by ANPD leadership over the last few years, ANPD is in a healthy state financially to sustain an unpredictable outcome such as this that is beyond anyone’s control. We will provide additional communication to the members as it relates to the impact of the future, should it be necessary. We ask for your patience as we work through the process.
