Because all ANPD Convention sessions will be available for on-demand viewing, no refunds will be granted. If you register for the in-person event but can no longer attend in-person, your registration will be automatically transferred to the online experience. Substitutions of registrants can be made by Monday, July 19, 2021, without a fee, by contacting the registration team at email@example.com.
In the instance that ANPD must cancel the in-person certification preparation course, you will be given the option to transfer your registration to a live online 4-day course, or the asynchronous course. In this instance ANPD staff will directly follow up with you on next steps.
If ANPD must cancel any in-person preconvention workshop, your registration will be automatically transferred to an online workshop of your choice. The online workshop will be offered after the official Annual Convention dates.
A participant may change attendance from the in-person to the online format at no additional cost as the registration fee is the same, regardless of which option is selected. If the event shifts to a fully online event, all registrations will be converted to online attendee registration. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to assist in updating your registration.
If the in-person Annual Convention is canceled or postponed, will I be refunded for my registration fees?
If ANPD is forced to cancel the in-person event in Chicago, IL, all participants who have registered to attend in-person will automatically be transferred to the online experience.
Attendees planning to join us in Chicago also receive complimentary access to the online content recordings. This access is automatically included with the in-person registration fee.
Online participants have access to livestreamed opening remarks, general sessions, award ceremonies, closing remarks, and one live presentation for each concurrent session. In addition, online participants have access to recording of all concurrent session presentations, posters, the online exhibit hall and unique networking opportunities.
The ANPD Annual Convention is an important opportunity each year for NPD practitioners to gather, network, refresh, and learn with others in the specialty. ANPD leadership continues to monitor the ongoing coronavirus situation and recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), and guidelines set by the state of Illinois and the city of Chicago. The ANPD Board of Directors is hopeful that as we move forward into 2021, group meeting size restrictions will be relaxed. ANPD will adhere to best practices for meeting safely to provide the opportunity for those who wish to meet in person to do so.
ANPD will follow the guidelines set by Illinois and the city of Chicago. Masks and hand sanitizer will be provided throughout the convention venue in alignment with guidelines in force at the time. Full protocols are in development but may include masks, hand sanitizer, and other precautions as recommended at the time of the in-person event. As plans evolve, information will be shared in ANPD’s health and safety plan on the website.
In accordance with state mandate, attendees refusing to wear a mask/face covering while onsite at the convention will be asked by event security to leave the property.
Depending on the state and local guidelines and mandates in force during convention, ANPD recommends that participants who are unable to wear masks attend the online convention for their own safety and the safety of others.

Partial credit is awarded for each individual session attended and evaluated. Association for Nursing Professional Development is accredited with distinction as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
How is this online experience different from the 2020 Annual Convention: Aspire…to Envision Virtual?
In 2021, ANPD upgraded to an online event platform that provides a robust interactive experience for the online attendee. General session events, award presentations, and concurrent sessions held in the general session room will be live streamed and online participants will have access to recordings for all concurrent sessions. An online exhibit hall is available to ensure online participants learn about the latest products, services and solutions for the NPD specialty. Online attendees can choose to participate in all event games and are eligible for prizes. In addition, ANPD staff and the Convention Content Planning Committee are making plans to engage the online attendee in the live event to help give the feeling of “being there.”
Yes. General sessions and concurrent sessions held in the general session room will be live streamed. All participants will have access to concurrent session recordings for a specified timeframe after the live event.
The NPD Certification Preparation Course is offered in a live-online format monthly.

My organization is paying by check. When does my check payment need to be received to ensure I have access to the online experience?
Similar to an in-person event, payment must be received before a participant can enter the convention. To ensure seamless access to the online experience, all payments should be received and processed by July 20, 2021 (2 weeks prior to convention start date). Registrants will not have access to the content until payment is received and processed. If payment is not received by July 20, 2021, the participant’s registration will be canceled and the participant must re-register at the prevailing registration rate.
All registrants will receive an email notification from ANPD when the online platform is available prior to the convention start. Participants must be registered and payment received in order to have access to the online platform when the event commences.
ANPD is collaborating with a premier online event vendor to ensure that the Annual Convention online experience provides the same quality content that attendees are accustomed to. In July, ANPD will host an orientation webinar to demonstrate how to navigate the online platform. Online attendees will receive information about this tutorial via email this summer. Access to the online platform will be provided a few days prior to start of convention to allow participants to build their profiles, add specific sessions to their calendar, and get acquainted with the site.
ANPD complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act and is committed to providing a positive experience for all attendees. Participants who have special requirements due to disability, may indicate their needed accommodation during the registration process. Please submit accommodation requests on or before July 2, 2021.
