2012: Re-naming and Re-branding of Our Speciality Association from the National Nursing Staff Development Organization (NNSDO) to the Association for Nursing Professional Development (ANPD)

A task force consisting of Kathy Fischer, Carol Blauth, Dora Bradley, Diane D. DePew, and Mary Harper explored changing the name of NNSDO to align with the 2010 Nursing Professional Development: Scope and Standards of Practice. The Task Force recommended the name change to the Association for Nursing Professional Development. They also made a deliberate choice to remove the word “national” in anticipation that our association would become international. The Board approved the recommendation, and NNSDO became ANPD, an international association with 16 international participants at the first ANPD Annual Convention in Boston 2012. At the 2018 ANPD Annual Convention in Orlando, there were participants from the Caribbean, Bermuda, Australia, Canada, and Qatar. Not only did ANPD have a new name, but a new brand. A new logo was introduced along with a new website, color re-branding and more as seen throughout all of ANPD’s current products and marketing materials.
