Target Audience: Nursing professional development (NPD) practitioners including Education Specialists, Education Consultants, Clinical Nurse Leaders, and Nursing Education Faculty.
Description: Do you currently have—or have you ever had—a mentor? Mentoring is described as a valued relationship and a nurturing process in which a more experienced person supports the professional growth and career development of another. Despite one of the nursing professional development (NPD) roles being that of a leader, we are not exempt from the importance and value of having a mentor. This session explores the significance of mentorship and how one organization developed a program for new NPD practitioners.
Outcome: 80% of participants will report that this session provides information that enhances, validates, or causes a change in practice as it relates to the implementation of a mentoring program.
Continuing Education: Association for Nursing Professional Development is accredited with distinction as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
