NPD Forecast: Super Ghoul NPD Jobs

By Jenn Bodine, DNP, FNP-C, NPD-BC, CEN

Join hosts Jenn Bodine, DNP, FNP-C, NPD-BC, CEN, and Jillian Russell, MSN, RN, NPD-BC, on October 25, for this month’s special Halloween podcast, Super Ghoul NPD Jobs. In this spooktacular episode of the NPD Forecast, Jenn and Jill unmask some super ghoul NPD jobs with special guests, Sheila St. Cyr, Lisa Purdy, and Zoe Youl.

Although most NPD practitioners practice in an acute care setting, many fulfill unique roles with the specialty in nontraditional settings. Shelia St. Cyr, MS, RN, NPD-BC, ANPD’s President-Elect, is the Controlled Substance Diversion Prevention Specialist at OU Health in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Lisa Purdy, PharmD, is the Pharmacy Professional Development Practitioner for Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, Indiana. She uses the NPD Scope & Standards to guide the professional development of pharmacy and dietary staff. Finally, Zoe Youl, MN, CCRN, is Head of Education at Ausmed Education in Melbourne, Australia, where she oversees the integrity, quality, and scope of all education development. Tune in to learn about these unique roles and how maybe you too can aspire to an “outside the box” NPD job.
