Target Audience: Interdisciplinary health care workers from all practice specialties, educators in academia, nursing professional development practitioners.
Description: Simulation is widely used in healthcare as an educational strategy. This session explores how simulation can be used in the healthcare setting in several other ways: to conduct clinical practice assessments, to perform systems-focused simulations to probe for latent safety threats, and to assist with the design of clinical space.
Outcome: 65% of participants will report that they have a better understanding of the intent, benefits, and challenges to implementing systems-focused simulations and simulation-based clinical practice assessments.
Continuing Education: Association for Nursing Professional Development is accredited with distinction as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
