Donna Cardillo, MA, RN, CSP, FAAN is known as The Inspiration Nurse.  She is a powerhouse of energy, wisdom, and humor who has been referred to as a positive force of nature who lights a path for others to follow. She is the original “Dear Donna” columnist at Nurse.com. Her accomplished career combines over 25 years of clinical, managerial, and business experience, not to mention her stint as a professional singer. Donna is author of four books including the award-winning Falling Together: How to Find Balance, Joy, and Meaningful Change When Your Life Seems to be Falling Apart. She is a certified meditation teacher, labyrinth facilitator, Reiki Master, and Certified Forest Therapy Guide. Donna is a life-long Jersey Girl with attitude and chutzpah to spare!

G101: Weaving Inclusive Excellence from the Classroom to the Bedside

In this session, Brigit Carter  promotes awareness of inclusive excellence in nursing is essential for delivering unbiased, patient-centered care. The concepts of inclusive excellence will be used to show how nursing professional development practitioners can develop, implement, and maintain strategies to support a more inclusive, respectful environment that enhances a sense of belonging.

Dr. Brigit Carter joined AACN as the Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer in February 2023. Previously, she held leadership roles at Duke University School of Nursing and served in the U.S. Navy for 28 years. Dr. Carter's research focuses on understanding student experiences with microaggressions and increasing diversity in nursing education. She is a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing and an Atlantic Fellow for Health Equity.

Healthcare is being disrupted and leaders need to take an innovation-first approach to navigate through uncertainty and create high-performing teams and organizations for the future. In this session, Dr. Dan Weberg will cover the case for innovation, how to lead innovation in healthcare, how to use innovation to amplify deviation, common reasons change fails, and specific actions steps for building a culture of adaptability to support future success.

Dr. Dan Weberg is a renowned nurse and healthcare innovation expert. He currently serves as the Executive Director of Nursing Workforce Development and Innovation at Kaiser Permanente, where he spearheads nursing workforce planning and the implementation of system-level initiatives. With extensive clinical experience and leadership roles in nursing innovation, research, and technology strategy, Dan has made significant contributions to the field. He is also a faculty member at The Ohio State University College of Nursing and has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles and textbooks. Dan's impressive academic background includes being the first-ever graduate of the PhD in Healthcare Innovation Leadership program at Arizona State University.
